I have been teaching at St. Joseph School for 16 years. I love the fact that I can use Jesus in my classroom every day. I have a BA in K-8 Education from WSU and a MA from Lesley University in "Integrating the Arts Throughout the Curriculum". I've taught K/1 at St. Joe's,
and have been teaching 2nd grade and MS Art the last 6 years. I love watching my students create art while they are mastering the 2nd grade standards. I am the kind of teacher who likes students to explore learning using different tools, creative minds, and develop critical thinking. The students favorite areas in my classroom are the Student Led interactive calendar and math center. The reading nook, which includes a listening center and bookshelves full of different genres and levels. I think students' favorite is the art and STEM/STEAM center.
When I'm not teaching I love hanging out with my 3 boys and their families, especially my 6 grandchildren. My husband and I love the sport of fishing and own a boat we go out in quite a lot. We also love the outdoors and do quite a bit of camping as well as playing cards and board games with our growing family.
