Hi All,
First of all I hope you are all healthy and well. This is a strange way to end the school year. However, we want our families and fellow Washingtonians to be safe. Based on Governor Inslee's Stay Home- Stay Healthy order we will end our school year with our Distance Learning plan. However, it is my goal to hold our 8th grade graduation with a Mass and graduation ceremony when it is allowed. It may not be in June or July, but I feel it is extremely important to celebrate our 8th grade students, their families, and all those who have supported our graduates during their time at St. Joseph School. Our 8th grade graduation may look different than it has in the past, but it will take place!!
The current guidelines from Governor Inslee will allow less than 50 people to gather during the June 19-July 10 phase 3 of his phased approach. I am attaching his guidelines to the email. This is not set in stone. Everything will depend on the COVID-19 curve.
Currently, I am beginning to plan for 8th grade graduation with just the students and their immediate families, so we can stay within the guidelines of a gathering. The graduation ceremony may also need to take place outside, again dependent on the Governor's guidelines. Dates for 8th grade graduation will be posted after Father Milhton and I can discuss availability.
We are planning an 8th grade drive through in our school parking lot on June 4th (our original graduation date). This would allow school families to drive through and congratulate our 8th grade graduates. More details to come soon!
I will continue to keep you updated on the most current plans for 8th grade graduation.
