I am happy to be a part of the St. Joseph family, the best installment of my career in education.
I received an AA from Centralia College in 2012 and then my BA from St. Martin's University in 2015, with endorsements in elementary education and reading. With the exception of the quarter I completed my teacher internship I have continuously worked in education since 2010. First as a paraprofessional then as an emergency substitute teacher while attending university. Prior to coming to St. Joe's I spent seven years teaching in the public school system. Two years teaching 6th grade ELA and Social Studies at the elementary level and then five years teaching 6th and 7th grade Social Studies at the middle school level.
My classroom is one of my happy places. I make an effort to create a comfortable and inviting space for gathering and learning. Students are often enchanted by the low lighting, the sofa in the "Chillaxin' Corner", the dining table for conferencing, and George the classroom (stuffed) pet monkey.
Outside of school I enjoy lazy afternoons reading in my hammock, camping and seeing new places with my Mr. Selleck, playing with my grandchild(ren), riding my quad, throwing the ball for my overengized dog, and just spending time in my personal forest with family and friends.
